For those interested in Poland and its heritage and culture or with a general love for history, books or writing... this event would have been perfect for you! The NPHG organised a special programme featuring eminent guest presenter, Janet Zmroczek MBE, Curator of Polish and Baltic Collections and Head of European, Americas and Oceania Collections at the British Library, London, between 1983-2022. She illuminated our audience about her particular area of interest: Polish communities in Britain in the 19th century.

Based in Norwich but initially from Northern Ireland, Peggy Hughes is Chief Executive of the National Centre for Writing (NCW) at Dragon Hall, Norwich's iconic medieval masterpiece. She explained how the NCW is Rooted in Norwich, England's first City of Literature, but it's open to the world and she detailed the close relationship the organisation has with two of Poland's best-loved cities. Kraków and WrocÅ‚aw, themselves part of the 'City of Literature' network .
